James and Kate Mackenzie took over the Pipe and Glass Inn in 2006, rapidly transforming it into the warm and welcoming pub that it is today. It’s a real family affair – James runs the kitchen, Kate runs front of house, and Toby and Molly – well, they just run rings round everyone…
At the Pipe and Glass, the aim is to make everyone feel welcome, whatever their preference. The regularly changing menus, including one for vegetarians, reflect the seasons.
The Pipe and Glass are proud and privileged to have been awarded some of the country’s top culinary prizes, including a Michelin star, held since 2010, and the coveted title of Good Pub Guide National Dining Pub of the Year.
They also took top place in the Wine List of the Year category at the Budweiser Budvar Top 50 Gastropub Awards 2015 with the judges praising the outstanding gastropub with a comprehensive wine offer.
